U.S. Senate
The United States Senate's World Wide Web server provides information

U.S. House of Representatives
The U.S. House of Representatives' World Wide Web service provides public access to
legislative information as well as information about Members, Committees, and Organizations of
the House and to other U.S. government information resources.
C-SPAN
C-SPAN is a private, non-profit business venture of the cable television industry. Even though the
network's programming covers the political process, the network receives no funding from the
government. C-SPAN obtains its operating funds from the cable systems that offer the network to
their customers.

The Library's mission is to make its resources available and useful to
the Congress and the American people and to sustain and preserve a
universal collection of knowledge and creativity for future generations.
U.S. Government Printing Office
The Government Printing Office (GPO) prints, binds, and distributes the publications of the
Congress as well as the executive departments and establishments of the Federal Government.
Distribution is being accomplished on an increasing basis via various electronic media in
accordance with Public Law 103-40, "The Government Printing Office Electronic Information
Access Enhancement Act of 1993.'"

Acting under the directive of the leadership of the 104th Congress to make Federal legislative
information freely available to the Internet public, a Library of Congress team brought the
THOMAS World-Wide-Web-based system online in January 1995, at the inception of the 104th
Congress. The first database made available was Bill Text, followed shortly by Congressional
Record Text, Bill Summary & Status, Hot Bills, the Congressional Record Index, and the
Constitution. Enhancements in data and search and display capabilities have been continuously
added for each database.
